About Astor Plasteel Windows Manufactured and installed Commercial window frames for Architectural highrise projects in Australia such as the National Galleries and High Court buildings in Canberra. Had licencee companies in Hong Kong, Brazil, and Phillipines.

Company compounded and extruded rigid and semi rigid plastics for various industrial uses.

Astor Glass Works was established at Bondi Junction, Sydney, Australia in 1956. The business occupied a rented room behind a fruit shop. The company produced mirrors for handbags.

Within 2 years Astor Glass occupied a small factory at Matraville, Sydney, where the company commenced glazing activities. The first large project undertaken was for the glazing of a main office building for the Munmorah Power Station near Newcastle.

At the same time the company began cutting and processing glass for the furniture industry.

About ASG Safety GlassIn 1961, the company purchased the "Stronglite Aluminium " factory in Surry Hills,with an area of about 4,000 square metres. In the early years Astor Glass occupied about 30% of the site. By 1973 Astor Glass and its other subsidiary companies occupied the entire site as well as rented space elsewhere.

In 1980, Astor Glass purchased a 5,000 square metre factory at Lansvale, Sydney, and moved the glass division to that site. Subsequently the Architectural Windows and Plastics companies were sold to the Sir Arthur Kadoori Group of companies, Hong Kong.

During that time Astor Glass moved away from tits core external highrise glazing activities to further its involvement in glass processing. Since the 1980's Astor Glass has been mainly involved in glass processing for Furniture, Commercial Interiors fitouts, and Architectural projects.

2004, with a new trading names, Astor Safety Glass and ASG Safety Glass, the company commenced glass toughening operations, and is accredited to AS/NZS 2208 Architectural and AS/NZS 2080 Automotive standards.

The company has since developed new products such as Colourbacked painted Splashbacks and wall claddings for internal and external applications, External and internal glass and metals Balustradings, Frameless showerscreens, Bifold doors, and proprietary products under pending patents.

ASG Safety Glass operate three divisions being Domestic sales and installations , Commercial sales and installations, and wholesale supply of processed glass to the building trades.

ASG Safety glass is a family owned, formerly European business, which has operated through 4 generations of family management.
